When Andy Coulson departed from the News of the World, no one was more tearful than showbiz editor Rav Singh.
“There’ll never be another boss like you,” wept Singh. “You are the world’s greatest boss.” Coulson was truly touched by his farewell speech.
Come now, to London’s Met Bar ‒favourite haunt of Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher ‒where new editor Colin Myler gathered his top dogs for a getting-to-know-you booze-up.
Axe understands that Singh was to be seen giggling enthusiastically at Myler’s gags and even took to the dance floor to support his new chief.
“The most excrutiating point,” I am told, “came when Colin said he fancied having a dance. Before he could finish the sentence, Rav had leapt from his chair, raced to the dance floor, and was in mid-boogie by the time Colin got there.”
Dancing with the boss! Is Singh the world’s greatest employee?
