NUJ members at Johnston Press-owned South Yorkshire Newspapers are returning to work this Thursday to allow for "constructive" talks with the management over pay.
Journalists from the Doncaster Free Press, Doncaster Advertiser, South Yorkshire Times, Epworth Bells, Goole Courier, Gainsborough Standard and the Community Newsletter series have been involved in the walkouts.
Johnston has offered a basic pay deal of 2.75 per cent and the introduction of minimum rates.
The minimum salary for journalists with all their professional qualifications is £16,855 a year, whereas that figure can be £19,000 on Johnston Pressowned weeklies in Yorkshire and Derbyshire.
Salaries for graduate trainees start from £12,508.
NUJ members at Newsquest Bolton and Newsquest Blackburn have voted to ballot for action over changes to rotas. Following the company's decision to go to print earlier, journalists could end up doing more evening and Sunday working.
Ballots are due to be held at Cumbrian Newspapers following the possible closure of its final salary pension scheme to all members of staff.
