A Sunday Mirror journalist is to be prosecuted for “harming the image of Montenegro” after writing an exposé of child trafficking in the country.
Dominic Hipkins has since left the Balkan republic and will be tried in his absence. But four local assistants working with him face up to three years in jail.
A spokesman for press freedom group Reporters Without Borders said: “Journalists should never be put at risk of prison sentences for harming a country’s image.”
