Times Newspapers is kicking off a major summer promotion by offering every reader a free copy of Arundhati Roy’s novel The God of Small Things.
The book will be polybagged with tabloid editions of The Times at WH Smith stores on Monday, June 7. In areas of the country where only the broadsheet is available it will be given away separately.
Then, for 19 weeks, readers will be able to buy a different bestseller every week for 99p when they pick up a copy of The Times or Sunday Times from WH Smith. Titles include Angela’s Ashes by Frank McCourt, The Shipping News by Annie Proulx and The Perfect Storm by Sebastian Junger.
To preview the giveaway, a 32-page supplement with reviews and extracts from the books will be included with The Times on Saturday, June 5.
