Johnston Press has said it could consider voluntary redundancies as part of a reorganisation of its weekly newspaper divison in the Midlands.
Up to 34 jobs could be affected as the company makes changes to editorial, sales and administrative roles at Aylesbury-based Central Counties Newspapers, which publishes 18 weeklies including the Leamington Spa Courier and the Rugby Advertiser.
Consultations have begun with the 34 staff affected by the proposals.
Central Counties Newspapers managing director Keith Ridley said: ‘These proposals have been announced as part of the company’s continual review of business efficiency.
‘In the event they go ahead, we will try to minimise the impact through voluntary redundancy and redeployment to alternative positions.”
