Craig Tregurtha is stepping down as group managing editor of The Times and Sunday Times after ten years in the role.
In total he spent 18 years at the papers and 25 years with parent company News UK. During his tenure the Times titles have been profitable and successfully developed its digital paywall model.
He has had his last day in the office but will “remain available to the business” until a successor is appointed in the new year.
Times and Sunday Times editors Tony Gallagher and Emma Tucker told staff in an email: “Craig is a talented journalist and editor, and has been vital to the fabric of the newsroom. His wise counsel and huge contribution will be greatly missed.”
