Haymarket’s gadget monthly, Stuff, has had its video podcasts ranked Best New Video of 2007 by Apple’s iTunes multimedia store.
Other contenders included Jeff Randall’s videocast for Sky News, which came in at number 20.
The vodcasts are produced by Stuff.tv in house at Haymarket’s Teddington Studios and are downloaded more than 60,000 times each month.
The online arm of Stuff was recently relaunched to incorporate more video, with two new staff employed to work purely in multimedia.
Stuff’s online publishing manager, Andrew Tyler, said: ‘This recognition from iTunes is testament to the team’s dedication to producing informative, yet funny and irreverent videocasts.
‘They’re designed to appeal to everyone, not just those interested in technology, and they’ve the beginnings of a cult following.”
Stuff’s print version had a circulation of 92,793 for the first half of 2007, which saw a small increase of 0.1 per cent year on year.
