
Richard Prest has been appointed editor of the Evening Telegraph in Dundee, replacing Gordon Wishart who retires early in the New Year.
Prest, 36, us currently deputy editor of the Evening Express in Aberdeen which, like the Evening Telegraph, is owned by DC Thomson.
Wishart had been editor of the Evening Telegraph for four years, and worked for the paper for 43 years.
Prest began is career at the The Evening Express, joining as a trainee sports reporter in 1990 straight from school in Kemnay, Aberdeenshire. Since then he worked as a news reporter, crime reporter and chief reporter before becoming assistant news editor in 1999.
He was promoted to news editor in 2000, assistant editor in 2003 and became deputy editor three years ago.
In the first six months of this year the Evening Telegraph had an average daily sale of 23,180, down 5.5 per cent year on year.
