Crain’s Manchester Business, a new weekly business newspaper for Manchester, launches its first print issue and website on Monday.
The 32-page paper, owned by American publisher Crain Communications, will have an initial, controlled print run of 15,000 and a further 3,000 will be available to buy on newsstands across the ten boroughs of Greater Manchester, priced £2.
The paper comes out again on 7 January, 14 January and will be weekly from 4 February.
The editorial team of ten now have a permanent home in City Tower, in Manchester’s Piccadilly Plaza.
Editor Steve Brauner, formerly editor of the North West Evening Mail and the North West Business Insider, told Press Gazette last month that Crain could have chosen anywhere in Europe to set up their first non-US newspaper, but chose Manchester due to its burgeoning business scene.
Brauner and publisher Arthur Porter, both from Manchester, said there had been an ‘overwhelmingly positive response’from the local business community so far.
Crain Communications publishes four similar titles in the US: in Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland and New York, as well as 25 leading trade publications such Advertising Age and Automotive News.
