Three national dailies increased sales month on month in November

Three national press titles increased sales month-on-month in November: the Daily Express, Daily Mail and The Guardian.

Guardian chief commercial officer David Pemsel said: "These are fantastic performances by our print titles, demonstrating both the value of quality journalism and the loyalty of our readers. November's strong news agenda contributed to the uplift in sales for the Guardian, confirming that – despite a challenging market – consumers are still buying newspapers. This is great news for us and for our advertisers."

In year on year terms, every title lost sales apart from the Independent's cut-price stablemate i, It's average sale of 302,373 (with 65,000 bulks) is now more than triple of that of The Independent which has a total circulation of 79,071 (of which 18,411 are bulks).

Sales decline on the Sunday titles were most severe because year on year they face comparison with the period after the closure of the News of the World and before the launch of the Sunday Sun.
