Guardian’s Adam Sills made Daily Telegraph sport editor

By Press Gazette

Guardian head of sport planning Adam Sills has joined his former Guardian colleague Ben Clissitt in defecting to the Daily Telegraph.

Sills has been appointed sport editor for The Daily Telegraph, he had been at The Guardian since 1998.

Clissitt was head of sport at The Guardian but took voluntary redundancy in February, joining the Telegraph Media Group the following month as head of sport across its titles.

He said :”Adam has a wealth of editing experience – in features as well as news – and he is an excellent manager. He has been a significant force behind the Guardian’s recent successes and I know that he will be a valuable addition to the Telegraph’s excellent sports team and will help drive us to further success.”

Former Daily Telegraph sports editor David Bond was named as the new sports editor of the BBC in December, replacing Mihir Bose.
