Former Evening Standard managing editor Craig Orr has died.
Orr held senior editorial positions on the Evening News and Daily Express, and on joining Associated Newspapers first with You Magazine at the Mail on Sunday, and then the Evening Standard until his retirement in 1997.
He played a key role during the Evening Standard’s development of computerised technology for journalists and in the move of the paper from Fleet Street to its current offices in Kensington.
Orr’s funeral will be on Sunday 30 November at 11.20am at Putney Vale Crematorium.
His family have asked that any donations be made to Macmillan Cancer Support.
