Evening Standard managing editor Doug Wills has been made group managing editor for Independent Print Ltd and Evening Standard Print Ltd working across the Standard and the Independent titles.
Following the promotion of Wills, who has been managing editor of the Standard for six years, two new jobs of deputy managing editor have been created.
These are being filled by Independent economics editor Sean O’Grady and William Gore, who is currently public affairs director of the Press Complaints Commission.
Current Independent managing editor Imogen Haddon is moving back into the company’s legal department as a media lawyer.
The Standard and Independent titles are owned by Evgeny Lebedev.
