Reed Business Information picked up four awards at last night’s Association of Online Publishers’ Awards, including best business online publisher for the second year running and best website, for XpertHR.co.uk.
The award judges praised the RBI site as a ‘great example of the success of a paid subs model’that has increased its revenues by more than 50 per cent in the last year.
RBI also won the online advertising sales team award, for its RBI e-newsletters, and the online community award for Farmers Weekly Interactive.
BSkyB scooped both the night’s big consumer awards: consumer online publisher and best website for Skynews.co.uk.
The judges said Sky was a ‘powerhouse publisher’in both broadcast and online and praised Sky News‘s ‘creative approach driving a fantastic increase in revenue growth and time spent online”.
IPC won three awards, including best consumer editorial team for NME.com, the Research & Insights award for The Origin Panel – Women’s Space and best cross-media project for The WKD Nuts Football Awards.
Incisive Media’s Accountancy Age went home with the prize for best editorial team – business. The judges were impressed with the site’s “microsegmentation” of content and an “excellent use of innovative technologies”.
The Financial Times picked up two awards for best use of video and best innovation, for its Mockingbird service.
News Group won the best mobile site awaed for The Sun Online, which judges described as “a brilliant translation of the brand into the mobiel space”.
Guardian News & Media won the award for best launch for its charity appeal for an African village Guardian.co.uk/katine.
