By Press Gazette

Music magazine publisher Team Rock has announced a shake-up of its editorial team which sees Classic Rock magazine editor in chief Scott Rowley promted to group editorial director.

Sian Llewellyn remains editor of Classic Rock. Metal Hammer editor in chief Alexander Milas (pictured above) takes on the additional role of Team Rock editor in chief.

Team Rock also publishes Blues, Prog and AOR magazines and runs TeamRock Radio.

Here's the press release:

TeamRock is delighted to announce the creation of a senior editorial team, designed to take its magazine portfolio to the next level and develop its digital assets.

Scott Rowley, currently Editor in Chief of Classic Rock magazine, will join the new team as Editorial Director of TeamRock. He will lead the transition and development of the magazine brands into the digital space.

Alexander Milas will take on the role of Editor in Chief of TeamRock, which will see him interfacing with the industry and artists across all brands. He will also continue his role as Editor in Chief of Metal Hammer and presenter of TeamRock Radio’s Metal Hammer Show.

Classic Rock’s Art Director, Brad Merrett, will become Creative Director of TeamRock, in a role that will support many aspects of Scott’s new position but from an artistic view. He will provide the creative impetus into the company’s digital platforms.

Alex Burrows officially moves into the role of Editorial Operations Manager of TeamRock, a role that he has been performing, for the last couple of months. He will continue to maintain the smooth production of the magazine portfolio which will build significantly as the magazines become more digital.

The new Senior Editorial team will report directly into Chris Ingham who will continue in his role as Managing Director of TeamRock, overseeing this part of the business as well as an increased international focus.

With the new roles being created, opportunities have now arisen within the business. Merlin Alderslade will move into the role of Deputy Editor on Metal Hammer, working closely with Alexander Milas as he develops into the role. James Isaacs becomes Art Director, Classic Rock & Metal Hammer focusing on Classic Rock whilst at the same time supporting Lewis Somerscales as he moves up into the role of Art Editor for Metal Hammer.

On Classic Rock, Sian Llewellyn's job title as Editor will now have the scope it deserves. With over a decade's experience in the role, she will become the leading editorial voice of the magazine. She will be supported in this role by Dave Everley who moves up into the role of Deputy Editor, Classic Rock, and continues to be responsible for the feature content of the magazine, with additional digital responsibilities.

Jo Kendall will move from Deputy Editor of Prog Magazine into the role of Managing Editor, Classic Rock allowing Alex Burrows to take on his new role.

New recruit Hannah May Kilroy, will take on Jo Kendall’s old role of Deputy and Production Editor for Prog Magazine. Polly Glass joins the team as Assistant Features Editor on Classic Rock. Finally Merlin Alderslade’s former role of Online Editor for Metal Hammer is filled by Luke Morton.

Chris Ingham, Managing Director, TeamRock said: “A business like ours cannot operate without passion, sheer grit and determination. This is demonstrated in abundance across all areas of the business every day, so I am delighted to be able to make these key changes to the business from within but also to bring in new blood.”

Over the next couple of weeks, TeamRock will have further news and developments about its future plans.
