Mag ABCs: Lads’ mags continue decline as Men’s Health remains top-selling men’s title

Lads’ mags continued to lose print sales at a rapid rate in the second half of 2014.

Weekly Nuts was the biggest faller, dropping 33.5 per cent to an average sale of 53,342. Rival weekly Zoo fell 33 per cent to 29,521.

Men’s Health remains the biggest selling men’s title, up 0.2 per cent year on year to an average circulation of 203,053 a month. FHM was another big faller dropping 15.9 per cent year on year to a monthly average of 96,452.

Men’s magazine sales were beefed up by digital edition sales, which do not appear in the sector-by-sector tables provided by ABC.

Men’s magazine digital edition sales were as follows:

  • T3: 22,319
  • Stuff: 14,949
  • GQ: 12,173
  • Men’s Health: 10,340
  • Nuts: 8,776
  • Wired: 8,218
  • Esquire: 4,968
