Immediate Media is to launch a new monthly pre-school title for girls, Blossom, next month.
The title will be produced by the publisher’s existing youth and children’s editorial team – two writers will work on the new magazine.
According to ABC figures, the overall circulation of the pre-school magazine market rose by 7.6 per cent to 961,627 in the second half of 2012.
Blossom will cost £2.75, is aimed at girls aged between 4 and 6 years old and will feature mainly educational content – including insight into jobs, learning French and ballet.
Issue one will include a make-your-own flip-flop kit and a will feature a number of popular cartoon and book characters.
Pauline Cooke, publisher of Immediate’s pre-school titles, said: “Producing this exciting new title has been great fun.
“Each issue will give young readers the opportunity to explore their favourite books, TV programmes and toys whilst reinforcing what they’re learning at school.
“We’re looking forward to working with even more licencees and great brands to develop fantastic content to inspire little girls.”
