The Economist has revealed a total paid-for circulation figure of 1,554,948 – consolidating its print and digital figures from around the world.
The figure for the first half of 2012 includes 88,000 paid-for digital edition subscribers (sold separately from the print edition).
In addition, The Economist has revealed that 631,967 average unique devices access The Economist app, and it claims 5.6 million social media followers (including 2.8m on Twitter, 1.1m Facebook likes and 1.6m Google+ circle members).
In the UK The Economist claims 210,386 print subscribers; 6,146 paid digital subscribers, 79.829 differently weekly devices accessing the mobile app and monthly unique online traffic of 649,102.
According to a spokesperson for The Economist, general online subscribers are not included in the ABC circulation figures released today.
