Press Gazette was named specialist website of the year at last night’s Online Media Awards.
This website also received commendations in the investigative journalism and campaign of the year categories for Save Our Sources. And editor Dominic Ponsford was commended in the commentary category.
Vice News UK won the Grand Prix and its editor Alex Miller was named online editor of the year.
Vice also won the breaking news award for its investigation into the Islamic State.
This year the chairman’s award went to Reuters.
The Guardian was named best site for news-led journalism and the BBC News Online was named best natonal/world news website.
Press Gazette publisher Progressive Media picked up one other prize as Economia was named best business/finance website.
