Sky News appoints Sam Kiley as security editor

Sky News has appointed former Times Middle East and Africa bureau chief Sam Kiley (above) to the newly created post of security editor.

Kiley, who is currently a documentary maker and author, will draw on over 20 years covering conflicts across the globe to offer insight and analysis on the perceived threat to UK security at home and abroad.

In addition, Sky News has also appointed political correspondent Niall Paterson as the channel’s new defence correspondent.
