Mag ABCs: Radio Times sales down 4% year on year

Average weekly sales of Radio Times remained under a million during the second half of last year, recording a four per cent year on year figures released today claim.

The BBC Magazines title remained the fourth biggest selling weekly television title recording average circulation of 960,839 in the six months to the end of 2010, according to figures released today by the Audit Bureau of Circulations.

The year-on-year for the Radio Times came as the sector as a whole recorded a robust performance over period as it held steady with an overall weekly circulation of 4,841,502 for its 12 listed magazines.

The robust performance came despite nine of the dozen TV weeklies reporting a declining circulation.

H Bauer's TV Choice magazine helped boost the sector's performance as it remained the leading weekly TV magazine with an average weekly circulation that grew 4.6 per cent year on year to 1,362,384 in the period.

TV Choice also remained the biggest selling actively purchased magazine overall in the UK during the period.
