Guardian data editor Alberto Nardelli has become the latest senior staffer to defect to Buzzfeed UK.
He joins former Guardian deputy editor Janine Gibson (who edits the site). Other former Guardian editorial staff now at Buzzfeed include: former head of news Stuart Miller and former special projects editor James Ball.
Gibson said: "I am delighted to announce that Alberto Nardelli is joining us as BuzzFeed’s Europe editor, covering this patch at such a critical time for politics in the UK. He is a superb journalist with fabulous ideas and we're excited to see what he does with this great brief."
Nardelli joined the Guardian in July 2014 in what was his first full-time journalism role.
