Clive Marshall appointed new PA Group chief executive

PA Group, owner of the Press Association, has appointed Clive Marshall as its new chief executive.

Marshall, who is currently chief executive of the Australian Associated Press, will replace Paul Potts who retires on 21 January after 14 years with the news agency business.

When Marshall takes up his new role on 15 February bring to an end his eight years at the helm of AAP.

Prior to joining AAP, Marshall spent eight years with PA Group in a number of roles, including as sales director, managing director of Two-Ten Communications Limited and PA Enterprise. He was also appointed as a director of the group in 2000.

Before starting his career at PA Group, Marshall also worked for Reed Elsevier and Trinity Newspapers.

Tim Bowdler, chairman of PA Group, said: “He is ideally qualified to lead PA, its strong management team and committed staff through the next stages of the group’s development.

“I am confident that the experience he brings from his time at AAP and with PA prior to that will prove invaluable to the group. In welcoming Clive I would also like to thank Paul Potts for the huge contribution he has made over many years to the success of PA Group.”
