Tina Brown admits ‘interesting discussions’ on Daily Beast-Newsweek merger

Editor of US-based comment and aggregation website The Daily Beast Tina Brown has admitted that to discussions with Newsweek amid rumours of a merger with weekly current affairs title.

In a Q&A interview to mark the Beast’s second birthday, she said: “There have been some interesting discussions going on, as we have with potential partners large and small all the time.”

The merger rumours follow news that veteran Washington Post writer Howard Kurtz is joining the Beast editorial team.

According to US-based Business Insider, the Newsweek-Beast merger is “a done deal”.
