The Times iPad app, available here, is attracting a few early gripes.
It’s £9.99 for a month, but doesn’t include the Sunday Times. It is effectively a download of the newspaper’s content (and doesn’t apparently include every bit which is in the print edition) and so doesn’t include much of the interactive content that you can access online.
When you consider that for £2 a week, you will get online access to The Times and Sunday Times, the app does appear to be over-priced. And so far it does not appear to include access to the Saturday magazines.
Adam Tinworth has bought an iPad and tried out the Times app.
He describes the navigation as “fluid and intuitive” and praised the integration of slideshows and video. And the fact that it is fully downloaded makes it preferable for commuters to going online.
But on the bad side he notes that there’s no linking and no real interactivity, and no search ability at all.
