The Swindon Evening Advertiser's long-serving deputy editor Pauline Leighton has been made group deputy editor after cutbacks mean she is also now deputy editor of the weekly Wiltshire Times and Wiltshire Gazette and Herald.

Sports editor of the weeklies Owen Houlihan has been made group sports editor. Advertiser sports editor Steve Butt and Times/Gazette & Herald deputy editor Neville Smith are to leave.

The Advertiser had an average daily print circulation circulation of 12,691 last year (down 21.9 per cent year on year) but it averaged 21,043 daily web browsers, up 30.5 per cent year on year.

The Wiltshire Times (cover price £1) had an average weekly sale of 10,835, down 15.5 per cent year on year. The Gazette and Herald (also £1) had an average circulation of 16,411, down 14.6 per cent year on year.

Parent company Newsquest last month announced plans to sell the Advertiser's town centre offices which have been home to the title for 150 years.
