Southern Daily Echo named Daily Newspaper of the Year at EDF regional awards

Portsmouth’s The News dominated yesterday’s 2011 EDF Energy London and South of England Media Awards after collecting four prizes.

The Johnston Press daily picked up four individual awards including business journalist of the year (Emma Judd), designer of the year (Graeme Windell), sports journalist of the year ( Jordan Cross) and feature writer of the year (Sarah Foster).

Newsquest title the Southern Daily Echo scooped three awards: daily newspaper of the year, community campaign of the year, and daily print journalist of the year for Jenny Makin.
