Revenue and profit up at Conde Nast

By Press Gazette

Vogue publisher Conde Nast saw pre-tax profits rise 14 per cent to £17.3m last year.

The company, which also publishes GQ, said its revenue rose 5.2 per cent to £117.8m, according to figures filed with Companies House, which also showed that UK revenue was up 4.1 per cent to £89.8m.

The rise in revenue and pre-tax profit was achieved despite the company seeing UK ABC circulation fall 3.7 per cent year on year to 1,448,477 in the first half of 2012

Its worst-performing, but also its biggest-selling, title was Glamour, which was down 11.3 per cent to 470,138. Its strongest title during that period was Wire, which was up 4 per cent to 52,136.

According to the Standard, Condé Nast International, which covers most of Europe, saw profits rise by 25 per cent to £43.5 million. Revenues were up 7.7% at £460.2 million.
