New Trinity chief Fox resigns from Guardian Media Group board

New Trinity Mirror chief executive Simon Fox has resigned as non-executive director of Guardian Media Group following his appointment yesterday.

Amelia Fawcett, chair of GMG, said:”Simon has been a very important member of the board since joining us in May 2010.  His deep understanding and experience of the kind of transformation we are seeing in our business has been particularly valuable. I have no doubt that he will make a fine leader of Trinity Mirror and we wish him well in his new role.”

Fox joined the Board of GMG as an independent non-executive director on 13 May 2010 and served as chair of the audit committee and a member of the nominations committee.

The board of Guardian Media Group comprises: Amelia Fawcett CBE (chair); Andrew Miller (group CEO); Alan Rusbridger (editor-in-chief, Guardian News & Media); Nick Backhouse (non-executive director); Neil Berkett (non-executive director); Judy Gibbons (non-executive director); Brent Hoberman (non-executive director); Darren Singer (group CFO); Philip Tranter (company secretary).
