The National Magazine Company has reported revenue down 14 per cent year on year to £297m for 2009.
But according to figures filed at Companies House reported by Media Week, it edged into the black with a pre-tax profit of £1.3m compared to a pre-tax loss of £42.8m in 2008 caused by it writing down the value of its assets.
NatMag publishes 20 titles in the UK including Good Housekeeping, Esquire and Cosmopolitan.
In the first half of this year total circulation of its titles rose 1.4 per cent to 3,050,689.
