Marie Claire’s 25th anniversary special edition netted the women’s monthly title its highest advertising revenue for five years, according to the magazine.
Advertising for the October issue, celebrating a quarter of a century since the fashion glossy first hit the shelves, was 8.7 per cent up compared with the same issue last year.
The 430-page birthday issue is the largest for seven years. It features female British stars such as Joanna Lumley, Vivienne Westwood and Helen Fielding, alongside what the magazine called “the next generation of British icons”, including Sheridan Smith, Laura Whitmore and Jodie Whittaker.
Circulation of Marie Claire dropped 9.4 per cent year on year on the first half of this year to an average of 230,973 per issue.
