A 37-year-old journalist was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen good this morning by officers from the Met's Operation Tuleta.
The man was arrested at an east London police station at 11am by police investigating allegations of criminal breaches of privacy, an investigation carried out in conjunction with the Met's phone-hacking probe.
The Met said: 'The arrest relates to a suspected conspiracy involving the gathering of data from stolen mobile phones and is not about seeking journalists to reveal confidential sources in relation to information that has been obtained legitimately."
The arrest comes one day after a 51-year-old man, widely named as The Sun's chief foreign correspondent Nick Parker, was arrested by officers from Operation Tuleta, and later released on bail.
