Off-the-ball incident ends up in the courts

An alleged fracas between two journalists at the Riverside Stadium in Middlesbrough has ended up in court, Axegrinder has learned.

Northern Echo sports writer and sub William Robert Scott was released on unconditional bail at Teesside Magistrates Court until 24 June after being accused of assaulting a Daily Mail football reporter.

The charge arose from an incident involving Scott and the Mail’s Colin Young after the Middlesbrough versus Sunderland game at the Riverside Stadium on 22 September, 2007.
