Northern Echo features editor joins PG editorial team

By Dominic Ponsford1

I’m pleased to announce the appointment of a talented young reporter to the Press Gazette team – Owen Amos, who joins us from the Northern Echo.

Owen is 24 and was working as acting features editor at the award-winning Newsquest daily.
He replaces Rachael Gallagher who has left after two years at Press Gazette to spread her wings professionally and pursue freelance writing opportunities.

Owen studied journalism at Cardiff University in 2005/06 after gaining a BA degree in politics at Nottingham University and has also gained his NCE senior reporter qualication.
He was shortlisted as feature writer of the year in the 2008 Press Gazette Regional Press Awards.

Owen will be covering all aspects of the world of journalism for Press Gazette – and will particularly focus on consumer and business to business magazines.

He joins Press Gazette at a time when our journalism reaches more readers than ever before. Pressgazette.co.uk currently attracts more than 100,000 unique visitors every month.
