Award-winning Welsh journalist Andrew Pugh joins Press Gazette

By Dominic Ponsford1

I’m delighted to announce that Press Gazette has recruited Andrew Pugh – a journalist with wide-ranging experience  in regional, national and business journalism – to the job of news editor/chief reporter.

Andrew has previously worked for the Western Mail, Wales on Sunday and South Wales Echo. He got his break in journalism when he joined the Neath and Port Guardian as an editorial assistant.

He trained with Press Association in Newcastle after first studying English Literature at Cardiff University and qualified as a senior reporter in November 2008 – the same year that he was named winner of the Media Wales Rhodri Jones Oustanding Young Journalist of the Year  prize.

Most recently he has worked at The Lawyer as a reporter and at Chambers as an assistant editor.

To call Andrew with a story, ring 0207 936 6433 – or else email him at andrew.pugh@pressgazette.co.uk.
