After spending £5m on dealing with the Savile disaster so far, MPs are not surprisingly rather keen that the corporation is a little more careful from now on with licence fee payers' cash.
Afterall, the whole Savile nightmare would have been avoided if BBC bosses had heeded the warnings of the two journalists who were investigating the story – Liz MacKean and Meirion Jones.
So there have been raised eyebrows in the House over the hiring of a part-time spin doctor on £150,000 a year to improve the BBC's image, as the Daily Mail reports.
Earlier this year a Press Gazette FoI request revealed that the BBC employs a stupendous 147 PR staff. And intially at least when we publiished that story, no-one was available to give us a comment.
