Acting director general of the BBC Tim Davie terminated an interview with Sky News today saying: "I've got a job to do and I'm going to get on with it."
Dermot Murnaghan grilled Davie for eight minutes asking him whether he was qualified to act as BBC editor-in-chief when he wasn't a journalist.
Davie's background is in marketing, but he had been BBC head of radio and music (which includes Radio 4) for four years until becoming chief executive of BBC Worlwide last year.
Davie ended the interview by walking away from the set (he was conducting the interview via video link) as Murnaghan continued to ask him questions.
Murnaghan noted: "There we have Tim Davie ending his interview with Sky News, I bet he wouldn't do that on the BBC."

The BBC press office, however, denied that Davie walked out of the interview, tweeting:
DG did not walk off from his interview with Sky. Interview overran, clashing with other interviews.
