National Magazine Company reporter Alex Harris was named overall newcomer of the year at the annual PTC New Journalist of the Year Awards.
Harris collected the award on Friday at Vinopolis on London’s South Bank after having earlier won in the new consumer journalist of the year category.
Terri White of ShortList was crowned new editor of the year while new consumer specialist/customer journalist of the year went to Daniel Bennett of BBC Focus Magazine.
Writers from UBM Medica’s Chemist+Druggist were triumphant in two categories: Chris Chapman for new business news journalist and Jennifer Richardson for new section editor of the year.
New business features journalist went to Nick Duxbury of Inside Housing (Ocean Media Group) and designer of the year went to Victoria Dimmick of Cosmopolitan (National Magazine Company).
Moya Sarner of City University, London was named most promising student.
