Newspapers turned down Royal sex blackmail tape

By Patrick

Two men appeared in court yesterday charged with blackmailing a member of the Royal Family with a tapes of lurid allegations.

Ian Strachan, 31, and Sean McGuigan, 41, deny demanding £50,000 from the married royal – whose identity is being protected – to keep the tape away from newspapers.

The Old Bailey heard that Strachan “hawked ” the footage around national newspapers last year – and that the News of the World initially signed a £20,000 deal to publish it before pulling out. The Sun and the Sunday Express both turned the down the offer.

The Telegraph also has the story.
