Twitter set to reveal identity of spoof Northcliffe blogger

By Press Gazette

The unknown Twitter user behind an account lampooning Northcliffe chief executive Steve Auckland looks set to have their identity revealed to the publisher.

Northcliffe has filed a legal action against Twitter compelling it to hand over information revealing the identity of NotSteveDorkland.

Now Twitter has contacted NotSteveDorkland saying: 'Twitter will do so [release the information] on August 1, 2012. If requested, we can provide copies of any records disclosed. We note that civil procedure does permit you to either file your motion to quash or to serve your objections on the requesting party directly. Twitter cannot provide any advice other than to contact an attorney."

The latest development was revealed on the Order-Order blog and retweeted by NotSteveDorkland
