The National Magazine Company is set to relaunch the website of its flagship women’s glossy Cosmopolitan this week to encourage greater user-interaction.
A new version of Cosmopolitan.co.uk (pictured above) will go live on Friday, unveiling a complete redesign introducing a string of new features.
Alongside its New In Store feature, Cosmopolitan.co.uk will introduce a new weekly Fashion under £50 editorial strand alongside a beauty makeover tool allowing readers to try new hairstyles and share them with other users.
A new Cosmo on Campus channel has been added to complement Cosmopolitan’s spin-off magazine for students.
Cosmopolitan’s stylists Clare Smith and Natasha Guiotto will blog about key shopping trends alongside new blogs from the in-house editorial team.
Another new feature will allow readers to upload video profiles to Cosmopolitan’s dating channel, while behind-the-scenes videos from fashion shoots will also be uploaded to the site.
The website has also revamped its community forums and introduced a private messaging system.
“We have listened extensively to user feedback and acted on this to launch the new site, which offers an enhanced environment to fuel our already highly interactive community,” said Pat Mcnulty, acting web editor at Cosmopolitan.
“Cosmopolitan.co.uk has an ever-increasing audience of loyal, networked and engaged young women and provides them with a unique destination.
“We look forward to growing this even further to become the number one destination for them online.”
The relaunch of the website will be supported by advertisers including Estée Lauder, Müllerlight, DKNY Fragrances, John Frieda and New Look.
