Sunday Times is only national title to grow print sales in May – full circulation round-up

The Independent was the worst performing national newspaper sales wise in May dropping 17 per cent year on year on year to a daily average of 62,460 (including 16,030 free bulk copies).

The Guardian and The Times were the best performing dailies in relative terms, dropping 2.8 per cent and 0.6 per cent year on year respectively.

The only national newspaper to grow sales year on year in May was The Sunday Times which rose 0.2 per cent year on year to 844,528.

Meanwhile, the Evening Standard has upped its free distribution to 897,000 a day. It has been gradually increasing its circulation since the start of the year from around the 700,000 mark.
