The Independent’s fashion editor Susannah Frankel is leaving the paper to become Grazia magazine UK’s new fashion director.
Frankel, who was also fashion editor of The Independent on Sunday and i, has worked for the group for the last 13 years.
She succeeds launch style director Paula Reed and will report directly to Grazia’s editor-in-chief, Jane Bruton.
Frankel has also had spells as fashion features director at AnOther Magazine and has contributed to Dazed & Confused, showstudio.com, Vogue UK, Vogue Russia, Vogue China and W Magazine.
Before joining The Independent she was the fashion editor at The Guardian.
Commenting on her appointment, she said: ‘Grazia is a wonderful place to celebrate fashion, to communicate its huge scope and show how inspiring, entertaining and uplifting it can be. I am really delighted to be joining the magazine.”
Bruton added: ‘We are thrilled to have someone of Susannah’s calibre join the senior team at Grazia; she brings a wealth of experience as well as the relationships she has formed in the fashion industry that go back over 15 years.
‘Her energy, ideas and passion for Grazia just blew me away, and I look forward to seeing her vision come to life as we enter an exciting new chapter for the magazine.”
