Timothy Balding, director general for global affairs of international publishing industry body the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers, has stepped down from his role.
Before taking up his current role, Balding had been chief executive of the World Association of Newspapers before its merger with IFRA in July last year.
Balding previously worked for several newspapers in the UK, including the Oxford Mail, and was a political correspondent for Press Association before moving to France in the early 1980s and joining WAN, the Editors Weblog reported.
