The Wall Street Journal is to host a pop-up café in the heart of London’s Tech City next month to showcase its global technology offering to entrepreneurs, developers and venture capitalists in the area.
The Journal’s inaugural Tech Café will be held at The Book Club in Shoreditch and will feature a series of events hosted by Ben Rooney, the Journal’s European technology editor; and Alan Murray, executive editor of The Wall Street Journal Online. The pop-up café will feature discussions with leading technology influencers – including entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, futurologists and digital policy makers – and also serve as an opportunity for the audience to meet members of The Wall Street Journal’s technology team and learn more about the team’s coverage.
“The Wall Street Journal’s global technology coverage is unrivalled in its breadth and depth, delivering breaking news, insightful features and compelling discussion about industry trends,” said Mr. Rooney. “Our Tech Europe blog has been helping tell Europe’s tech story for almost two years now, and our first ever Tech Café will allow us to bring all this coverage to a wider audience. I hope we’ll have some thought-provoking, engaging and even controversial discussion on some of the big topics in tech.”
The café will also include an exhibition of the Journal’s iconic “hedcuts” of global technology influencers and their associated video interviews with the Journal, brought to life through augmented reality.
The Wall Street Journal Tech Café will be held at The Book Club, 100-106 Leonard Street, London, EC2A 4RH from 8am on Wednesday, September 12 until 5pm on Friday, September 14. Access is free to members of the public and attendees are asked to pre-register for sessions at http://wsjtechcafe.eventbrite.co.uk.
