Rebel journalists on the Enfield Gazette group of weeklies have dropped a threatened strike.
The nine editorial staff had voted in favour of a strike in
protest at cut-backs across newspapers in Trinity Mirror’s southern
division. Some 47 out of 380 jobs are to go following the creation of a
centralised subbing pool and the introduction of features copy sharing.
