Manchester Evening News senior editor Sarah Lester has been promoted to editor of the Reach title, where she has worked since 1997, in print and online.
Lester, who has been playing a key role in the MEN’s digital development to be the biggest regional website in the UK, said: said: “When I was a teenager I dreamed of being a journalist at the Manchester Evening News – it’s hard to believe that I’m now editor of this incredible brand. It means a great deal.”
Reach said Darren Thwaites remains editor-in-chief of the MEN portfolio, including the region’s weekly newspapers, as part of his brief as marketplace publisher for the company’s northern titles.
