DMG Media has promoted Dailymail.com chief brand officer Sean Walsh to global chief brand officer and managing director of US operations.
He will oversee all global communications for DMG Media brands including Mail Newspapers, Mail Online and DailyMail.com, and take on additional responsibility for the day-to-day running of the US operation.
Walsh, a former producer at Nine Network Australia and ABC News in the US, will be based in New York but also work across DMG Media’s offices in London, Los Angeles and Sydney.
DMG Media chief executive Rich Caccappolo, who himself was promoted to that role in November, said: “Sean has done a phenomenal job of helping make Daily Mail a household name in the US and Australia over the past eight years.
“He has championed our news brands to build DailyMail.com and Mail Online into global digital powerhouses. Sean has been a great executive partner to me for many years and his expanded responsibilities will assist me as I continue to transition from COO, Mail Online to CEO, DMG Media.”
