New Channel 4 News correspondent

Secunder Kermani moves from the BBC.

BBC Pakistan and Afghanistan correspondent Secunder Kermani is joining Channel 4 News as a foreign correspondent.

News correspondent Paraic O’Brien, who has been reporting from the channel from Ukraine, has also been appointed to a permanent foreign reporting role.

Over the past year Kermani has helped lead BBC coverage of the Taliban takeover and its aftermath.

O’Brien is a multi-award-winning Irish TV journalist who has been with Channel 4 News for a decade.
