Telegraph Media Group has announced the creation of a “digital operations unit” which will work with editorial, commercial and technology departments to improve the web offering, build audiences and increase digital income.
The new unit will report to Julian Sambles, who has been promoted to digital operations director – he was previously head of audience development.
Other members of the new team include: Richard Underwood has been appointed to the job of senior SEO executive, working with SEO executive Jonny Cooper; Ian Douglas, head of user experience; web publishing executive Ben Hazella and senior digital optimisation executive Emilija Vilkyte.
Sambles said: “We have created a product with a global reach and reputation for quality news and reviews. The challenge now is to broaden the consumer and commercial base of the business.”
